Sleep Really Matters

That's why we help people (big and small) to find inner-calm and sleep well

Australian kids are struggling

Children need adequate quality sleep for physical and mental wellbeing—they can’t develop to their full potential without it.

Thousands of Australian children suffer from chronic lack of sleep. As a result, they commonly become physically and mentally ill, everyday life becomes challenging and it’s a downward psychological spiral before they even reach their teens. [1]

This affects entire households with adults often feeling anxious at night because they don’t know how to support children to calm down at bedtime. The result is increased stress for everyone at a time when rest and peace are most needed.

Our user-friendly resources help vulnerable children and families to find inner-calm for peaceful bedtimes and quality sleep.

Transforming lives with guidance and resources

Trauma is a pre-cursor to poor sleep. Children who’ve suffered domestic violence, displacement from their homes, or other types of trauma, struggle to relax and sleep well because their bodies contain high levels of stress hormones at night. [1] They need extra support and guidance to find peace at bedtime, sleep deeply and regain well-being

Our resources transform children’s lives by helping them to cultivate inner-calm and resilience. They can then avoid self-medicating and self-harming as coping strategies, establish positive patterns of behaviour and contribute their unique gifts to society.

Every $45 donation provides a Sleep Kit to a child in need.

Our sleep kit for kids

The Sleep Kit for Kids is an effective resource that guides children into deeply nourishing sleep. Developed by Ahna de Vena, Holistic Sleep Therapist and, Sleep and Dream Foundation founder, the kit contains a beautiful little book and an audio track on a portable mini-speaker.

By using the kit, children learn self-calming skills for releasing anxiety and falling asleep with ease. They’re gently guided to make friends with the dark, release negative emotions and speak to themselves in a caring way. Children can use these skills throughout their lives to create a peaceful inner world so they’ll always be able to sleep well.

The Sleep Kit for Kids has proven to be effective for children aged 3-12 years old and is available free of charge to organisations working with vulnerable children.,
