welcome to the sleep & dream foundation
Helping vulnerable children sleep, heal & thrive
Every child deserves the chance to dream, especially during tough times. But for children living through trauma, sleep can feel impossible. Without it, recovery is harder, emotions grow heavier, and hope feels out of reach.
At the Sleep & Dream Foundation, we’re here to change that. With heartfelt, research-backed resources, we’re filling a critical gap in trauma recovery—helping children and carers rediscover rest, resilience, and brighter tomorrows.
How we help
We collaborate with a wide range of frontline organizations to support children and families navigating trauma, adversity, and challenging transitions.
Our partners include women’s refuges, foster care networks, crisis accommodation services, transitional housing providers, and community organizations that work with vulnerable children and carers.
Through these partnerships, we provide fully funded resources, training, and practical tools designed to help families reclaim restorative sleep as a cornerstone of recovery and resilience. Here’s what we offer:
Nourishing Sleep Packs
Carefully designed tools for children and their carers, including simple bedtime strategies, calming audio, and resources to create peaceful, consistent routines.
Bedroom Upgrades
Small changes that make a big difference—like warm, no-blue-light bulbs that turn spaces into calm, inviting havens for restorative rest.
Sleep Workshops for Staff
Trauma-informed, hands-on training that helps carers and staff turn sleep into a source of comfort and recovery rather than a nightly struggle.
Sleep is a lifeline
Restorative sleep is where healing begins, creating a foundation for:
Children feeling calmer, safer, and able to heal.
Carers feeling less stressed and building deeper bonds.
Sustainable recovery and real, tangible hope.
REAL IMPACT
We’ve donated over 1,200 sleep packs
Since 2017, we’ve delivered over 1,200 Sleep Packs to children and carers across Australia. Every story reminds us why this work matters.
A foster carer shared how her child, who hadn’t slept through the night in months, finally found peace. Another caseworker described how a Sleep Pack became the turning point for a family rebuilding their lives. Time and time again, we hear how our resources spark immediate change and lasting transformation.

Let’s make quality sleep a reality
Every child deserves a safe, peaceful night of sleep to heal, recover, and thrive. Your support helps us provide the tools, spaces, and care needed to make this a reality for children in crisis. Together, we can ensure that sleep becomes a cornerstone of recovery for every child who needs it.
“The Sleep Kit for Kids has proven to be a fantastic resource, which cultivates inner skills that enable young people to feel calm at bedtime and grow up with more resilience and healthier minds.”

“My 8 year-old foster son is Autistic and was having difficulty sleeping, but since using your recording he falls asleep in ten minutes. If he has a restless night, he listens to it again and falls back to sleep.”
